African elephants

African elephants have grey skin and weigh up between 5 to 7.5 tonnes. They grow to 3 to 4 metres high at the shoulder. Baby elephants are called calves. They drink about 200 to 250 litres a day. Elephants are herbivores that means they only eat plants. They live for 60-70 years. Elephants are in danger so we need to protect them by saving them and their habitat.

We must save the elephants and their habitat.
