1.Around the world there are different currencies For example: US Dollars,Euros,Sterling

and Yen. When adding money it is important that the same currency is being used in one bill.

2.Adding money is used in everyday life when people go shopping and pay the bill. If for example you go to the store and you buy several items you will have to know how much money is needed to pay the bill.

1. Kim bought 5 pencils, they cost 74c each, a rubber which cost 78c and 6 birows which cost €12. Kim gave the shopkeeper a €20 note. How much change did she get?

74x5=€3.70. €12.00+€3.70+78c=€16.48. €20.00 - €16.48=€3.52

She will get €3.52 as change.
