He was born in France near Paris.

When he was 3 years old he had a terrible accident.

Something very sharp went in his eye.

Then, he became blind. He went to a special

school.

A soldier called Charles Barbier went to his school.

He had invented a way to write in the dark.

Louis Braille liked the idea.But it was tricky so he invented the system braille. There are no more than 6 dots per letter.

A lot of people did not want to use it to begin with

but after he died people started using it.

Now, blind people use this around the world as they

cannot read normal books.
