Class 8's trip to Caerleon Roman Fortress

When most of Class 8 arrived at Sandfields Primary School they did the register, like

usually except this time they had to act QUICKLY,because they were going to: CAERLEON ROMAN FORTRESS!!!This was pretty exciting for them because this was was the first trip this year! After a

short period of time,Class 8 had finished the register and Mrs.Scott,Mrs.Steven and Mrs.Chaves

had began to sort the children out.Once they had finally sorted out the children, they were up

and ready to go.The children were in groups and chose partners but if they took to long the teacher

who was watching over that group would choose who they were to go with.Once that goal had been

completed they hurried outside,BUT they stopped and gazed in awe at the buses, they were

D.J. THOMAS buses and they were huge but though they were huge they were also tall.

On the bus, Class 8 were so NOISY!(including me)(maybe it was because the bus took like 2 hours!)They were singing songs and telling jokes so much that when it was time to leave everything was CHAOS.The teachers had to call the people/children in their groups to line up (next to the teacher they were in the group with).

At first they walked to where they were to go last, so there was a huge

misunderstanding and the other class who was having a session were probably annoyed by then

(,I think I was quite as well). After a while the teachers sorted it out and apologised.

We walked to a place called Digi Dig inside it was really muddy and I

honestly thought it smelt like horse poo.I saw a GINORMOUS ROMAN AMPITHEATER.We travelled

inside the ampitheater and took a picture.

Then we walked to the LEGIONARY ROMAN FORTRESS. A man called Vlerious greeted us and took us to a weird shaped house were I put my bag and my coat on coat-hangers and a big

yellow box. After that he took us to another house and said to stay were our the togas' were and

don't stay with our partners;he also told us how to put the toga on ''put one of your arms and your

head through the hole and let your other arm rest at the bottom.''I went to a red sofa and popped on a purplish-pinkish toga on and a soft white hat on then I saw a row of people with white togas

and no hats on. The man came in and explained to us that he basically wanted us to act like we

were Romans having a feast. He also said that the people with white togas are the slaves and that I was a rich person from France I think. The slaves gave me oysters and fruit and many other foods at the end or nearly the end they gave us sick bowls so that we had enough room in our tummy's

to eat our dessert. For dessert he gave us snails and I said in the Philippenes/the country where my parents were born that we eat snails as well.

On Monday 9th December 2019 Class 8 travelled to a Roman fortress and baths to learn more about the Romans/Roman life, because it was actually the topic that they were learning about in school.
