Microsociety!!!

On Thursday, Rigel class started Microsociety. It was a fun lesson as we got to listen to a story about a planet called Just Enough. We heard that they were spoilt and had everything done for them. One day, the computer, which was suppling everything, broke down. As they did not know how to do anything, there was no water or food and everything was chaos.

Mr Woods told us that they suffered from scarcity. The planet became known as Not Enough.

After that, we talked about what our class city should be called and our class flag should look like. My table,(JJ, Tom, Bisma, Avinash, Mia M and I) had a good flag... such a good flag that it won! However, our last minute name didn't - yet again JJ had to do something random. He came up with Mr Bagio or something like that for our society name. Rigopolis was chosen after a tie between BOLT.

Friday

On Friday, Rigopolis had to deal with a scarcity problem. Each table had a pack of things. Two tables had everything but paper. Two tables had 10 pieces of paper, a pencil and a counter. Every 10 cm square or counter was worth 5 points and every 10cm diameter circle was worth 10 points. Whoever had the most points was the winner. Team A won with 60 points and we came joint last with 5 points. We learnt that we had to share out things to get around scarcity, and negotiate trades with other teams in order to make sure we had all the things we needed to succeed.

We learnt that scarcity is a big thing and you have yo use teamwork to get around it.
