Pre History
The first people in Malta were only fishermen, farmers and wild hunters
Stone Age
Around 3850 BC, the islands of Malta were repopulated by a civilization which built the megalithic temples in the world. They used big heavy rocks to build with, and to work with.
Copper Age
During this period of time they built many temples such as Skorba, Ħal Saflieni, Ħaġar Qim and many other beautiful temples in Malta. During this period,
people created various tools made from copper like,
knives and axes which were used for construction
Bronze Age
In Malta the Bronze Age was frome2400 BC to 700 BC.
Only few items made from Bronze were found in Malta, most of all were in farm daggers. The Bronze Age people brought with them knowledge to build smaller megalithic structures called Dolmen. These people had the new culture of burning dead people
Conclusion
These periods are important for Malta because we can now how people on our island lived, what they ate and how they survived
The oldest temple in Malta is actually the Ġgantija temples in Gozo
