In January 1983, the internet was introduced, which allowed different computers to communicate with each other.

The internet provides lots of information to everyone around the world. As students we use it a lot to make research for school. We use it for our projects, to watch the news, write articles on school programs and communicate with our teachers.

Many people like to buy stuff and pay bills online. It is faster and you don't need to leave the house to do it. Even if it saves a lot of time, it can be a problem too and sometimes people are asked for their credit card details to get robbed and they end up not receiving what they ordered.

When my parents were younger, they used to download movies from the internet to watch on dvds. They are now logging onto websites where we can all watch the movies online. It is faster and we find many movies to watch especially our Favorited Disney movies.

Even if the Internet can be fun and make our life easy, it can have a few disadvantages as well. Something what is happening very often is being hacked. Other people can break into your computer and steal your personal information and money. This can harm the computer especially when viruses are spread into other networks. Fixing the problem could cost a lot of money.

Not all the information shared on the internet is good. Many of it is illegal and offensive. Internet is being used to spread hate and bad words which are not good to see by small children. Internet can be used to support bullying and racism.

We need to be very careful on how to use the internet and always keep our computers safe. Children must always be helped by their parents to be sure that they are watching only good things and learning from what they find and play on the internet.
