Every year In Malta 320 or more new cases are found 3% of which are men.

Most cases are recorded on women 55years or older.It doesn't

always come from a lump.One can detect its presence by signs

such as swelling,redness,itching and breast pain that stays longer

than 3-4 weeks.A history of breast cancer in first-degree relatives

(Mothers,sisters,daughters) only elevates the risk by 5 to 10 percent.

Men also have a chance of getting breast cancer

which places them at a 1in 1000 chance of getting it but the disease

is 100 times more common in women.Even cats and dogs are prone

to developing cancerous breast cells.The disease can be prevented;

adopting a healthy lifestyle can help.
