The egg-citing drop.

On Friday, Violet class took part in a egg dropping competition for science week. Everybody was split into five teams for the event and in those teams we where told to design and make a capsule to protect an egg from cracking when dropped off a certain height. Using science, every team had to think of the best way to keep the egg safe, without making the capsule too big or too heavy.

Before we designed our capsules, we watched a video to see what was the best method that keeps the egg safe. After we finished our designs and had lunch, we set about making our capsules. After we made our models and secured the egg inside (most of our eggs had names and faces, so the next bit was the hardest) we threw the egg off the metal bridge to see if our ships would protect the egg. Fortunately they all survived the fall. Over all I think it was a truly EGG- CELLENT experiment (excuse the pun).
