glow worms

Introduction

Glow worms (Lampyris noctiluca) are not worms at all,

they are more like snails.They are called this because

females glow to attract males.This means that they are

easy to find at night because they light up.

Appearance

Glow worms look like a snail but without

a shell,they also glows.Females glow for

a maximum of 7 hours,they also have a

bark grayish brown skin with rich orange

triangles on its sides.

Habitat

Glow worms (Lampyris notiluca)these wird insects are mostly

found in England (especially in the south)These glowing insects

can be active for May to late August, also found at night mostly

in June and July.These slipery glow worms also live in meadows.

During the day they can be found under stones and logs.

Food/Diet

Glow worms eat small snails and slugs

that come to their homes.
