My trip to the National Portrait Gallery!!

When we went to the National Portrait Gallery I was put in a group with Aya her mum, Nhi,

Zayne and CJ. On the way there we went on the 254 bus,me and aya was talking about our favourite singer. Then we had to get of at Bethnal Green station. We got on the Central line. Miss Robey gave us cookies, they were delicious! We exited the station at Tottenham Court Road. We walked to Trafalgar Square. Mr Scott said we have a long walk to the Gallery, but actually it didn't seem that long as we were talking all the way about what was around us.

We finally arrived at the Gallery and sketched for at least half an hour. We all drew diffrent things in the gallery because there were sculptures, painting and lots to choose from. I decided to draw Queen Victoria's daughter and Henry the 3rd

After the Gallery we walked to Trafalgar Square, we sat on the steps and had our lunch. I had Tuna Pasta and Ribena. Whilst eating our lunch we were entertained by the street entertainers which was really lovely.

On our return to the Gallery in the afternoon we had a excellent Workshop with a Video Artist named Chloe. She explained how to find the clues on the frames of the peoples talents in the portraits. Most of the portraits only had one hand showing as in that period it was exspensive to paint both hands. Chloe put us into groups of three to do a freeze frame of how we should change the school area. We were asked to draw our own portraits, did you know that animals can be in portraits as well as humans. There was one family in particular we were focusing on their name were the Sharp family and they were all Musicians. There were portraits of the Sharp family playing their instruments at concerts.
