JOURNEY TO THE RIVER SEA!

This year, Year 5 has been reading the stunning book ‘Journey to the River Sea’ and writing about Maia, who is the main character. Maia moves to the wet and mysterious forest to live with the Carters.

Here is an extract from the book:‘Maia’s heart was pumping so loudly, louder than lightning that she nearly had a heart attack. As soon as she heard the words, “You are going to go the Amazon. She quickly ran to her bedroom and packed her stuff and thought to herself “Maia, why don’t you go and say good bye to your friends and all the staff at the school, then that gave Maia an idea.’

I would recommend reading this story because it’s interesting and you will learn lots about living in the Amazon Rainforest such as all of the poisonous animals that live there.
