World War 2

The London Blitz

In the first half-term we researched World War 2; We watched a film about life in London during the blitz and looked at a map of where the bombs fell in London and we found out that Laycock street was not bombed but many of the streets around Islington were.

This half-term we have been using minecraft to learn about how it felt to be in the London blitz in 1940.

We built a London street, we split into groups and each group made a house. When we had finished the scaffolding was removed and we finished off our houses before World War 2 started and the bombing arrived.

It was a very good experience on how to survive during the blitz. However,it was really hard to agree with my group so we had to seperate and work on our own instead of all us helping eachother. It was very hard surviving during the blitz but, we still made it.I think that it would be better if we could do team work because we could have done a lot better and we could have shared our good ideas into a whole brilliant idea.

I really enjoyed it and think my group could improve on how we could survive better. It was me,Tiyana , Abdi,Reece and Yonathon in group 1.

In the game, our house got bombed which made me angry and annoyed but now that i know how it feels for those who really lost their houses in real life i feel so sorry and sad for them.I have really experienced the sad life of somebody who really lived during the tragic event called The blitz.
