Galileo

Galileo was born in 1364 in Italy. He was known as an astronomer, physicist and mathematician. The Catholic church said that the moon was smooth but when Galileo observed the moon with his telescope he actually saw that the moon had craters and mountains. The catholic church also believed that the sun was smooth. Again Galileo spectated the sun with his telescope and he saw that the sun had dark areas called sunspots. He saw the sun rotating and he believed that the sun was in the middle of our Solar System. He even took measurements to proof it. The catholic church were annoyed so they put Galileo in house arrest for nine years. He died in 1642 when he was still in house arrest.
