DavidBowie invented a character called Ziggy Stardust in 1972 and he called his bandThe Spiders from Mars. Ziggy was supposed to be an alien musician from outerspace.

There are lots of songs on this record but one of the mostfamous ones is StarMan. StarMan is 45 years old which is older than my mum butpeople still listen to it and that is why sometimes David Bowie is called TheStarMan.

Acting: David Bowie was in some films including Arthur and the Invisibles and Spongebob Squarepants. His most famous is probably The Goblin King from Labyrinth. In the Labyrinth there is a girl and her baby brother and he won’t stop crying so she wishes the Goblin King to take him away and he does. So she has to go get the baby from the other side of a Labyrinth.

Later music:

David Bowie had hits through the 80s and 90s including Absolute Beginners, Lets Dance and Fashion. He also did duets including Dancing in the Street with Mick Jagger, Under Pressure with Queen,and Fame with John Lennon from The Beatles.

His last band was called TinMachine.

Influences:

David Bowie influenced lots of people, like Brett Anderson from Suede, Morrissey from The Smiths, and even Tamatoa the crab from Moana.

Death:

David Bowie died of cancer in 2016 but lots of people still listen to his music. My favourite Bowie songs are Life on Mars, Oh You Pretty Things and Changes.
