What did you want to be when you were younger?

A vet.

On Friday the 1st of March, the Year 6’s, participated in the Janavhi Memorial Cup to celebrate Janahvi's life and love of football. There were three teams from each class and each match lasted about 8 minutes. Trent won 11-4 but, both classes played extremely well and had a wonderful time. After announcing the results, balloons were released into the sky and many claimed the balloons made the letter ‘J’ for Janahvi. After releasing the balloons, the Year 6s shared their memories of Janahvi and were joined by the 2018 leavers. Later, in the New Hall, refreshments were generously given to us by Janahvi’s wonderful family. Thank you to everyone that attended the afternoon, for making the event so special.

COMPETITION TIME!

This week, you need to write a ten word sentence in the form of a story. For example you could write… “Shrek was an ogre who saved and married a princess.” The winner will be announced in assembly next week. Good luck!

YEAR 2 EXPLORE ST. PAUL'S CATHEDRAL!

DRESSING UP FOR WORLD BOOK DAY!

This week, Eden and Tay Class traveled into London to explore the incredible St. Paul’s Cathedral, where they spent the day learning about the building and The Great Fire Of London. They were given a tour by one of the guides and even got to touch some statues that survived the Great Fire. They had to stay very quiet in the cathedral because people from all over the world go there to take it all in and pray. Later in the day the classes climbed A LOT of steps to reach the Whispering Gallery where (guess what?) they had to whisper! Ha! They has a wonderful time in the beautiful building. Hopefully Mersey Class will enjoy themselves just as much when they go there at the beginning of April.

On Thursday the 7th of March, the whole school came together to celebrate World Book Day. They dressed up as all sorts of characters; princesses, knights, pirates, animals, Alice in Wonderland characters, and more! One lucky member of each class was awarded best costume and most of the winners were children who had spent lots of time making their costumes at home. During the day children in different year groups told stories to each other, that they had learnt during the week.
