17.2.22

Firstly, as my first official half term is completed, I feel the need to thank all of you for making me feel so welcome. It is an absolute pleasure to be able to teach your children and be part of Cheswick Green Primary School team.

This week, we have been learning all about games and we have made our board game. Please take time to play it with your child.

We have been playing lots of games such as bingo, snap, lotto and snakes and ladders as well as, Simon says, hide and seek and stuck in the mud!

Next week is half term week. When we return, we will be learning all about transport. Please check your email for the Topic Knowledge Organiser as it should have been sent to you this week. It will outline some of the learning intentions for next term.

Are you ready for a Challenge?

  • Can you read with your child every day this half term? If you can, your child will receive a sticker for the week. When then have gained 6 stickers they will receive a prize. Make sure you comment in their Reading Record Books so we know they have read and thus, receive a sticker. Please use the phonic mat sent home last week to aid with the reading and recognition of sounds too.
  • Can your child retell a story? Read either a home book or a school book and ask your child to retell the story? Can they identify the characters of the story? Can they think of an alternative ending?
  • Please continue to support your child with their targets for this term.

Reminders

  • We return from half term on Monday 28.2.22.
  • World Book day is Thursday 3rd March. All children can dress up as a character of a book for this day.
  • We are really running out of pants and socks for children to change into. If you do have any old ones, could you be kind enough to consider donating them? We would be so grateful for any contributions.
