SPORTS DAY

On the 30th of June 2015, St. Mary's sports day began. We all piled onto Orleans sports field but because of the heat we had moved to a more shady place. We were all gathered in our classes and first up was the Obstacle Race. As usual, the year 3's went first, then the year 4's, then the year 5's and then the year 6's.

After hoop throwing and hurdle kicking, the sack race commenced. The same order continued through the sack race and many people fell over. But a year 5 girl when she fell she gracefully did a forward roll got back up and won the race.

Next up was the skipping. The year 6 helpers lined up the skipping ropes but unluckily my experience wasn't the best. I got stuck with a very small skipping rope. Other people got better experiences.

Getting closer to the final events, now was time for the sprint. The sprinters lined up and the children tried hard to be the fastest.

Up next was the double act race: three legged. Lots of falling and tags falling off. Some people eventually ran to the line after knowing they had definitely lost the race.

Now was time for the sprint challenge. As, always the girls went first in every year. The medals were given in assembly.
