World War two Propaganda

This poster is trying to make people want to grow

their own food, and eat it. The slogan,'every available piece of land must be cultivated',

is quite long but it is powerful and it gets stuck in

your head easily, as well as being very easy to understand.

The most powerful words in this piece of propaganda are 'grow' and 'must'. These words also make you feel as though you are part of something and you have a responsibility.

The bold, black 'GROW YOUR OWN FOOD', makes you feel as though you have to do what it is saying.

The small, green letters of '..every available piece of land must be cultivated' makes it sound like you want to do what ever it's saying, and the fact that it is all in lowercase makes it look like someone is asking you to do it, nicely.

I think the audience that this was intended for are people who want to help with the war but might be injured or older and therefore can not help with the fighting, and so they can help out by growing food for themselves and other people. This could also be made for children who are too young to go to war but have a lot of time on their hands.

World War propaganda was used to make people look out for things and also help out with things, as well as understand more about the situations they may be in. Bellow there is a poster that I have written a bit about.
