A brief history
Wrestling dates back to at least 5000 years ago. For the Greeks wrestling was the sport to play and was considered a science and a gift from the Gods. Athletes even wrestled naked and it was introduced at the ancient Olympic games in 708 B.C.E (almost 2700 years ago). It was adopted by the Romans and continued as a sport through to modern times in different forms and in 1906 wrestling became an official Olympic sport.
