This is the year 3 half term homework blog. On this blog you will find 5 choice topic related homework tasks. Please select one from the choices given ( you can do more if you want to) and complete by Friday 8th January. On this blog you will also find details of some ongoing skills that I would like the children to practise over this half term. Regular practice of these skills will help them enormously as they are the building blocks of Maths and English.

Finally, there are also instructions of how you can access J2Homework. There will be an English and Maths homework set on J2Homework each Friday.

Sculpt a real or imaginary fruit using clay or modelling dough. Paint the fruit sculpture with colourful, interesting patterns to make it look weird and wonderful. Make up a bizarre or funny name for the fantastical fruit and describe how it would taste.

Read a range of smoothie recipes and think of your own creation. Make a list of ingredients. With an adult make your smoothie. Design a food label for your new creation using persuasive words and phrases.

Using Willie Wonka's chocolate factory as

inspiration.... think of your own food factory.

It could be a sweetie factory, a cake factory,

a crisp factory...Draw a picture of one of the rooms and then write a description of the room.

Create another character who might have won a golden ticket in Charlie and the Chocolate factory. Draw a picture of them.

Write another chapter for the book to introduce the character and describe how they won the golden ticket.

Write an information page ( or blog) to explain what fair trade is. Give examples of fair trade products.

Write about the importance of fair trade.
