Wednesday 31st March 2021

Good morning Butterflies.

Here is today’s suggested timetable for anybody who is learning from home today.

Today is our last day of home learning before the school holidays. After the holidays, we will be back at school! We cannot wait to see you!

Have a good day and a fantastic Easter and holiday!

Calendar

Get an adult to help you with your personal calendar.

·       What day it is? Is it a school day or a weekend? What day was yesterday?

·       What date is it? Yesterday was the 30th so today with be…?

·       What month is it?

How many days until the Easter holidays?

Look outside, is it sunny or raining or cloudy? What season is it?

You can sing the days of the week song to help you remember all the days.

Expressive Arts and Design

This afternoon's lesson of "Expressive Arts and Design" is linked to our topic Mini Chefs.

Potato Printing:

  1. Begin by choosing some potatoes. Normal baking potatoes work great. You can choose different sizes.
  2. Carefully cut the potatoes in half and draw a design into the flat edge of the potato and cut around the outline with a sharp knife. (This is something that mum or dad will need to do for you)
  3. Use paper towels to blot the potato and absorb any excess moisture, which could stop the washable paint from sticking to the stamp.
  4. Apply a thin coating of paint to the design on the potato, wiping off any excess or dripping paint. Move the stamp around in the paint to get an even coat.
  5. Stamp the paper, card, or fabric (potato printing works on almost anything!) with the painted design and watch how your kids create their very own vegetable artwork.
