Charles Darwin Facts

1. Charles Darwin was the fifth of six child in the family.
2. When he was eight years old his mom died and he was brought up by his older sisters.
3. Darwin came from a family of scientists and wealthy people.
4. He was born on the 12th February 1809 in shrewsbury and died on the 19th April 1882.
5. He spent almost 5 years on his ship named the HMS Beagle which he was the ships natrularist.
6. The most important part of his journey was visiting the Galapagos islands and he noticed that each diferent island had different turtles.
7. He was born on the same day as Abraham Lincoln.

Timeline

1.He was Born on the 12th of february 1809 in shrewsbury.

2.After his mothers death he went to shrewsbury school wth his older brother Erasmus in 1818.

3.In 1825, Darwin started University studying medicine in Edinborough. But he couldnt stand the sight of blood so he left to be an Aglican clergyman in Christs Colledge but in both schools he shown more interest in being a natrualist.

4.In 1831, Darwin recieves an offer of his lifetime to be a natrualist on a ship named the HMS Beagle and begged his dad to go and he did.

5.In december 1831 he set of on the ship with captain Fitzroy on a voyage around the world for almost 5 years.

6.On the 16th of September 1835, Darwin visited the Galapagos islands and discovered the Finches and different types of Galapagos Turtles on different islands.

7.On the 29th of January, Darwin marries his Cousin Emma Wedgwood and had 10 children which 3 died in their childhood.

8.On the 24th of November Darwin publishes the The book Orygen Of Species which showed the evolution theory and there was an argument of evolution and Gods creation starting.

9.Darwin sadly died on the 19th of April 1882.
