Hello, my name is Ben Plimley from year 5 Curie class. Everyone in our class has a pen pal in Uganda (an African country) my pen pal is called Bonex. In the village that our friends live in they don't have good latrines (loos) and we have decided to do a fundraiser to help this cause (a bit like the year sixes did a 'mini-fair' in the playground. for homework we have been asked to do a bit about how we would like to fund raise for this cause, so, here goes...

1) Firstly, (the obvious!) a cake sale. I know everyone does cake sales when the're trying to raise money, but, also everyone loves cake! cake sales also make you loads of profit/money (you can charge 75p for a cake that cost 20p for all the ingredients put into the cake!!!!).

2) Next, I would like to do a sponsored triathlon/run/swim/bike/anything sporty because I think many of us in the class are quite sporty and I would enjoy doing that as it is active and is also a good, fun, easy way tho make money!

3) A car washing day - me and my friends could ask all our neighbors if we can wash their car for a few pounds to raise money for our cause.

So here are my ideas. I do hope that we can do them and raise lots of money for our friends in Uganda.

Ben
