World Childrens' Day

The World Childrens' Day is celebrated all over the world to promote togetherness, create awareness of problems children face and also to improve children's welfare.

It is celebrated every year on the 20th November . This day was introduced by the United Nations and takes place on the anniversary of the Declaration of Children's Rights that had been set up back in 1959. Amongst the rights of all children in the world we find the right to have education, the right to play and enjoy youth, and the right to be protected from danger .

The theme for 2020 that the United Nations (UNICEF) chose is 'Investing in Our Future Means Investing in Our Children' .

There are some countries who celebrate this day on a different date. For example in India it is on the 14th November and in South Africa it is on the 7th of November.
