Types of rocks

There are 3 types of rock.

• Sedimentary rock
• Igneous rock
• Metamorphic rock

Sedimentary rocks are made from layers that build up over time. Metamorphic rocks are formed when buried rock is pressed or squeezed. As lava gets nearer to the Earth's surface the lava to form igneous rock.
