Electricity is a type of energy that we use to power our devices.

Electricity can be stored in batteries and powers things like phones and toasters.

It can be converted into light and heat and is made in generators from gas, oil, nuclear reactions, coal wind and solar energy.

If your circuit doesn't work you should check you are using a conductive material, check your circuit is a full circuit (goes round in a circle) and check your batteries are not flat.

To stay safe you should make sure you don't get any electrical devices wet and don't leave any thing you don't need plugged in. Make sure you don't put anything unsuitable into plug sockets and don't touch anyone who is having an electric shock or it will pass through you too.

Here I am building a circuit.

In this circuit there is only one light and only one battery so the light comes on brightly

but if I put more than one light in the circuit with only one battery they will come on dimmer because the lights need to share the battery's power.

To protect your light bulb

you need to make sure that

the voltage going through

the bulb is no greater than

the recommended amount

so that your bulbs don't blow.

In other words, don't put too

many batteries in your circuit

for one bulb.
