Tom Moore was born on the 30th of April 1920 in Yorkshire. During the second world war he fought in India.

On 6th of April 2020 he decided to walk 100 laps of his garden to raise money for the NHS, who are working extra hard due to the coronavirus. He wanted to raise £1000 by his 100th birthday. Newspapers and the media were interested in him so more and more people donated. In 24 days he raised nearly £33 million, which is the most money ever raised by one person.

He also made a record of the song "You'll Never Walk Alone" with Michael Ball and the song reached number one.

On 30th April, his 100th birthday, he got a personalised birthday card from the Queen, became a colonel and received more than 150,000 birthday cards from the public, which filled a school hall!
