I AM
I am a party with no one attending;
I wonder if my balloon will ever inflate,
I hear my ship sinking,
I see my light fading,
I want a crop that will produce,
I am a party with no one attending.
I pretend that I am a vulture when I’m only a fly;
I feel like an island isolated in the middle of nowhere,
I touch nothing but sorrows,
I worry if my flower will ever blossom,
I cry a destiny that will never yield to me,
I am a party with no one attending.
I understand that my boat will never stay afloat;
I say my tree will never grow,
I dream horrors to condemn,
I try to spread my wings but they never catch air,
I hope my clock will tick,
I am a party with no one attending.
