Our Stick Insects.

This half term we have been exploring mini-beasts, and this week was all about our Wrap Around pets.

We have some new Stick insects, our last Sticks laid lots of eggs and a few weeks ago they finally hatched! We have loved watching the tiny insects grow and have been observing them for the last few weeks, this week we were able to hold them for the first time.

We spoke about how much they had grown as well as how many we could see and what they looked like. When we held the stick insects we made sure we kept our arms very still so the stick insects were safe, some of us didn’t want to hold the insects but instead spent lots of time looking and watching them. We have also done some fabulous observational drawings of our baby stick insects.

Next week we are looking at the story The Bad Tempered Lady Bird and will be revisiting the sound M,m.
