The Misty Mountain

By Lexi May Coates

I just got back from the most scariest trip of my life. It all started when my mum asked me if i wanted to go on a trip to climb a mountain. I asked if my friend Eva could come along and I was allowed. I phoned Eva straight away and told her the good news, she was so excited. Eva came straight round to my house to pack our bags. We made sure to pack lots of essentials like water and food, but the main things we needed were a tent and our sleeping bags because my mum told us that the trip might be longer than just one day. After hours and hours of packing me and Eva finally were able to get on our way.

The journey was very long but there was such beautiful countryside and lovely flowers. We finally arrived after 3 hours of being in the car. You could see the mountain from the tiny, little, squisshy car park. We got out the car and grabbed our things and then mum drove back home with my little sister. Eva and I were so excited to be climbing a mountain so we got right into it. We were having so much fun, UNTIL we realised we ran out of food and we were only half way up. It was alright until we started to get very hungry. At that moment it started to get dark and no-one was about. We knew we would just have to get through the night. Putting up our tent was not that hard and after we finished putting up the tent, we lay down to sleep. Every now and then we heard a rustle in the bushes. So Eva and I crept out of the tent and saw a dear in the distance. We crept towards it and we both knew we had to kill it and eat it's meat otherwise we wouldn't be able to survive. We pounced out and grabbed our ice axe and cut through the dears belly. There was a river near by so we washed of all the blood and started to eat the meat.

We woke up to a beautiful sunrise and a lovely warm day. We got into our clothes and put down the tent. As we were taking down the tent we saw an old lady staring at us she asked us if we needed anything and Me and Eva both shouted out FOOD. The lady knew we were desparate and handed us a apple each. I knew we weren't that far away from the end so we decided to walk back with the lady just incase we needed any more help. When we were walking back I saw my nan

so we went to ask if she wanted to walk with us. When we finally reached the car park we saw mum and my little sister waiting for us. On the way back home Me and Eva had a big sleep, we finally got back home and Eva went straight back to here house and we haven't told anyone about it until now.

The Moral of the story is . . .

Never stop believing even when things are hard!!
