How did the tiger get his stripes?
Hi, my name is Tom and I'm going to tell you a story of something that happened in my life, I was 10 when this amazing thing happened to me, so this is how it goes; on a fine sunny morning I was geting ready to go on a trip to the Amazon jungle. The trip was ok but we did need to get out of the car a few times 'cause of, you know, sick. When we got there I put my tent up and then asked my mum if I could go exploring in the jungle. My mum is sometimes annoying, ok all the time, anyway, she said ''only if you bring your brother''so I say''oh muuuum'' ''toooom'' said mum ''oh ok''I sighed so I went with my brother for a sec' then I pushed him back to the tent. In only a few minutes I heard a ''rooooooooaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrr'' wich sounded like a tiger. I tried to follow the sound. When I found it I wasn't right. It wasn't any kind of animal I've ever seen in my life! I got a bit closer to the new species but as I got closer I realised it was a tiger without stripes! I whispered ''Hello''and something, a miracle, happened...he said hello back. I asked "who said that?" The tiger replied "me you stupid thing", "huh, you said it? I didn't know tigers could talk?" I said. "Of course we can, what are you talking about?" shouted the tiger, "anyway, what's your name?"
"Err, Tom"
"Hello, my name's Jack" replied the rather unpleasant tiger, "let me show you around my place". But before the tiger could show him I asked, "why don't you have any stripes?"
"We all want them but the hunters shaved them all off, but we managed to get away before they could do anything else to us."
"It's lucky you escaped! Can you show me your home?"
"OK, follow me and I'll take you to it."
But when they got there he couldn't find his home, there was only a tiny sprout of what looked like cress. So, the tiger was so furious he ripped the sprout up, "who has done this to my home?" he shouted with rage. As he crushed the cress he felt more fur growing on his body and in a matter of seconds his stripes were back! He got all his family and they all came to get the same stripes as the tiger did, that's why nobody forgets the cress that gave the tigers their stripes.
