My Trip to

Bank Headquarters

On Wednesday 3rd June, Saturn went to Canary Wharf to visit HSBC bank.

Outside the building, two lions guarded the bank and under them were 8 gold

chinese coins that mean good fortune. When we entered the building, we went

through a series of security checks. After seconds of waiting,

we met the global conductor of HSBC also we met two

ladies that were our tour guides. There names were Kayleigh and

Vanessa. After we met them we were separated into groups and

we were put with an adult and set off to explore. We had a mini exam at the end of the workshop about HSBC and it was very

very intimidating. When we went to explore, we had a miniature tour were we learnt about HSBC's history. Here are some interesting facts we learnt .

*10,000 people work at HSBC's canary wharf branch

*HSBC is in 74 countries!

*HSBC is currently celebrating their 150th anniversary

*HSBC stands for HONG KONG SHANGHAI BANKING COOPERATION

When we were having our tour we saw a huge statue of a grain of rice which was there to celebrate 150 days of HSBC. It was about 6 metres tall and it was curved and inside it was plated bronze.

`

After we had our tour we went to the 34th floor and we had the most scrumptious lunch ever! The surprising fact was that we had Coca-Cola in glass bottles and we had really posh food.

Later after lunch we interviewed people who worked at the bank and it turns out there job is really fascinating and many people were not even in banking!

Overall the trip was really really amazing.
