All about the Harp Seal


The Harp Seal lives in the North Atlantic and Arctic

Oceans. They are ice pack seals, so they look for large

stable sheets of ice to have their babies.


What does it look like?


Young pups are solid white.


Adults have pure black eyes, a silver-grey fur covering, with a harp

shaped marking on its back. They can grow to be 1.7 to 2.0m.


What does it do?


They spend most of their time in the ocean.


It reproduces on the ice surface and feeds at the ice edge.


What does it eat?


It eats bony fishes and invertebrates.
