Science Week was a fun week where pupils would learn new things based on science. It was a new learning experience and pupils got to learn from each other. Miss Loughlin (RL) was the science co-ordinator and organised this fun, amazing week so I want to say thank you to her. On Monday (the first day of science week) KS2 had to bring in a science project which was space themed and KS1 had to bring in a rocket that was homemade. The majority of people made a model of the solar system and some people did a practical experiment eg a volcano. On Tuesday we decorated a Bag 4 Life. We learned about how the number of plastic bags handed out by supermarkets in England in 2014 rose to 7.64 billion - 200 million more than in 2013. In 2010 almost 6.3 billion single-use plastic bags were used. Due to this we paid £2.60 for a bag and spent the whole afternoon designing one. On Thursday, we went to the Science Museum and looked at lots of exhibitions. We learned about space and more about the different planets in the solar system. We went to the theatre in the Science Museum and saw a 4d motion picture about astronauts arriving in space which we had paid for in advance. It was very exciting! Overall the whole week was so fun and I hope to do something like this in YR7, in high school.
