An Encounter With A Dragon

Kayla had just approached, the oldest and the narrowest bridge she had ever seen. All she wanted to do, was find out what was on the other side of the forest. She was so determined, that she took her time and walked nervously across the creaky old bridge. Kayla was so high up into the sky, that it almost felt like she was standing on the pure white clouds.

Finally Kayla reached the pitch black den, which had an awful sound. The den felt rough along the side and it was probably (more) colder than the north pole!. She moved her hands from side to side, on something that felt scaly and hard. Something started to move, Kayla became nervous, it grew bigger by the second.

The creature had fiery red eyes, that reflected on everything near it. As soon as the creature opened it eyes, the whole cave lit up, Kayla became petrified. She started to shiver and bit her lips. Kayla then squealed “What’s happening? what are you?”.

The scared stiff girl, tried to act as if she was the boldest person alive. The blood thirsty ferocious dragon, was absolutely infuriated because he had been disturbed. It let out the most monstrous flame, to express its feelings. Kayla was bewildered, at first she thought it was magnificent. She stared into its eyes, which made her blood run cold, the dragon meant no harm it was just friendless. As she looked deeper and deeper into the innocent dragon’s eyes, she realised how amazing and adorable the creature was.

She’d always wanted t explore the forest, Kayla started to have an idea. The dragon could bring her anywhere. She climbed upon, the harmless dragon’s tough and hard as a rock back. The wings of the dragon were enormous, beautiful and smooth. The dragon flew like the wind.

The breeze ran all over her face, Kayla felt free. She cast up her no her nose to smell the fresh air. Kayla brought up her hands, as if she was were flying. She saw all of the beautiful green leaves, the amazing trees which were exceptionally tall. They decided to take a break and stopped, right in the middle of the forest.

Kayla ran wild, she smiled and laughed. She was so happy to see what was on the other side of the forest. Night came quickly, by the time they knew it Kayla and the dragon were curled up under one of the largest trees.

The bright sun light hit Kayla on the face, she woke up lazily. The dragon was ready to fly home. When they reached the dragon’s den, Kayla thanked the dragon while she gave it the biggest hug ever. She dashed home, which wasn’t any easier than when she made her journey to the den. The dragon smirked and glanced at the young child.
