Next week we will be reading The Angry ladybird by Eric Carle. I love this book! We will continue with phase 4 phonics. As well as practicing blending and segmenting and reading sentences with common exception words, we will also be learning all about the quick sounds; pt, mp, fr and bl. In maths, we will be learning all about more and less and comparing groups of objects as well as writing number sentences with the addition and subtract symbols.

Our Challenge

We will be having a visitor coming to see us on Monday morning. He is a member of Solihull Beekeper Society and will be showing the children a hive (without bees), the clothes beekeepers wear, discussing how to look after bees and what bees do for the environment! Could you research the honey bee and think of a question you may want to ask the beekeeper? Could you support your child writing the sentence? A sentence begins with a capital letter and will end with a question mark in this instance. Please bring in your question on Monday morning and your child will have chance to read it out to the beekeeper when he visits.

Reminders

  • Sports Day: Weds 29th June.9.15-10.15 am.
  • Beekeeper visit Monday 27th June.
  • Please make sure your child has a named bottle of water each day and a sun hat. It is so important in such hot weather.
  • It is Circle time each Monday. This is a time where your child can talk freely about anything that is important to them and let all of F2 know their news. If your child has anything they want to share, could they please bring it in on a Monday.
  • Donations of non-alcoholic fizzy cans/bottles are desperately needed for our summer stall.
