The children have really enjoyed being creative this week, mixing the primary colours red and blue to make purple to paint a Turnip and investigating fruit and vegetables using magnifying glasses. The story has been retold using a wide range of props this week, both indoors and outdoors. The children have had a lot of messy fun digging up different root vegetables and exploring mark making using felt tip pens and paint brushes in water! We have used our knowledge of the story to help us with ordinal number, working out who helped pull up the turnip, 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the story. In our role play we have talked about the importance of sharing and taking it in turns to be first.
