Carisbrooke Castle

Do you want to explore the ruins of a castle, full of mystery? Well, Carisbrooke Castle is the place for you! Carisbrooke Castle was a central place of power and defence on the Isle of Wight for over 1000 years. In the past, it had been a Saxon fortress and a castle of the Norman conquest; and has been remodeled a lot during the Middle Ages and during Elizabeth 1's rein. One of the most famous things about this castle is that Charles 1 had been held prisoner there during the Civil War- before his execution.

Some of the things to do here are: exploring the ruins of the castle; meeting the donkeys; going to the beautiful garden; looking at the very factual museum; and seeing the attractive chapel. My favourite thing was going to the garden as it is a lovely place to visit, and a great place to take a picture. I also liked to visit the ruins- it was interesting to see almost everything there.

In conclusion, I would say that I enjoyed my trip there, and would love to go there again. Also, I give it a 9/10. I recommend anyone to go there; especially people who love history. I hope you have enjoyed reading this, and thank you for reading!
