One night Jone sat at her bedroom window and stared into her reflection, her eyes were pale blue like the clear ocean waves, her hair a fine silk of golden sun rays, and her smile sent a radiance of joy around the room, although she didn't feel that way. She sat there and watched as the cars of here friends dragged themselves out of driveways and purred down the winding lanes of the country.

Jone knew it was only for the summer but that long by herself at boarding school seemed forever. Many times she had been the one driving away and looking back at the great stone building, but she had never thought how the one left behind must feel. She could hear the birds singing and the smell of supper. This would be one long summer she thought.
