Robert Carlyle - My Inspiration

Before fame

Robert Carlyle was born on the 14th of April 1961 and was born in Glasgow, Scotland. Sadly,

his mother died when he was only 4 and he and his father worked as painters and moved house often. Robert dropped out of school when he was 16 but began to study for acting at 21 because he was inspired by reading The Crucible by Arthur Miller. He then joined Glasgow Arts Centre and played his first lead role in the drama Riff-Raff in 1990.

I admire him because he shows resilience and dreaming big when things weren't going well and he achieved his dream to act and is now famous.

Gaining Fame

Robert gained fame starring in the 1997 film The Full Monty and the 200 film The Beach. In 2011, he starred as Rumpelstiltskin in Once Upon A Time. This is how I discovered this amazing actor. He is spectacular at acting and I wanted to know more about him.
