Should Jim escape from the workhouse?

I think that Jim should escape because he gets beaten vey regularly and sometimes even when he hasn't done anything wrong. I also think he should be able to go back and see Rosie and both of her sisters. Plus, he shouldn't stay there for the whole of his life like Joseph because that is a bit sad.
