Captain Tom

Thomas Moore (born 30th April 1920 in a place called Keighley in Yorkshire) is a former British army officer known for his achievements of raising money for the NHS in the charity run up to his 100th birthday during the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic.

Military Service

• He was a captain in the British Army.
• Years of service 1939-1946.
• Served in India and Burma during the second world war.
  

Charity

In order to raise money for the NHS, Tom chose to complete 100 laps of his garden by his 100th birthday.

Captain Tom Moore aimed to raise £1000 but he smashed his target and raised almost £33 million by his birthday.
