Outside, the wind whipped the snow across the roads.  Already you could barely see anything.  It was too cold to be out.  The snowstorm blindfolded the town, muffling the world in white silence.


Inside the warehouse, it was quite dark.  Years of dust had covered the windows with a thin layer and only a faint light filtered through.  Each footstep echoed, leaving behind a trail of footprints through the dust.  Boxes of different sizes were piled high, like strange towers.  Cobwebs hung between the boxes like lace nets.  An abandoned ladder lay at an awkward  angle across what looked like an old television set.  Its wires spilled out.  Max stood still for a moment and let his breathing settle.


It was then that he heard it.  The faintest of sounds – a floorboard creaked.  Then, another.  He stood quite still, his senses alert, straining to listen.  For a long while it was quite quiet – only the distant murmurings of the wind drifting snow.  Then somebody coughed …



Your setting description:


Outside, a thick white blanket of snow covered the floor: Max trudged throw the pillow drift, ice and extremly steep mountain. The snowstorm blindfolded the town , muffling the world in white silence .


Inside the abandoned, murky warehouse ,it was dark. Years and years of layered dust formed markings on the windows allowing flickers of light to shine into the room . Eventhough it was snowing and was cold outside, in comparison inside the warehouse felt so much colder. It was so cold that when I took a deep breath the air from my mouth was swirling up into the peaks of the ceiling. A eerie silence filled the room you could of heard a pin drop . Boxes of different sizes were piled high , like strange towers . Cobwebs hung like lace nets .Max stood still for a second and let his breathing settle. At that moment the wind cried in auguish and blew fiercely though the windows.


The was then that he heard it. The faintest of sounds -a floorboard creaked. Then, another. He stood quite still, his senses told him self that there was another sound coming and there it was CREAK! CREAK! a shiver went down his spine he was paralysed with fear. For a while it was quiet only the murmurings of the wind drifting snow. Then someone coughed ...
