Hi, Teddy (from Ivy class) here. So this week has been very busy, especially as it's only been a short week following bank holiday Monday. We had an afternoon where Ivy and Mistletoe classes completed some activities around 'Give Racism the Red Card'. Our teacher told all the children with brown eyes to stand up and leave the classroom to do some fun activities outside and all the children with blue eyes had to stay and do extra work as they were not as clever as those children with brown eyes! We couldn't believe it (especially as I have blue eyes) but it was an exercise to think about how people are stereotyped according to their features. It really made us think and highlighted the issues around our friendships and how they can change when we are faced with segregating groups based purely on appearance. It was a great afternoon and very thought provoking.
