Gymnastics

Do you want to find a way to exercise your body, but also have fun? Well, then this is the right blog for YOU!!! Gymnastics is a wonderful way to get your body flexible and after, you'll feel relaxed. With great tips and helpful things, this Gymnastics Blog will guide you through all the stretching and the basic skills.

First of all, before you do anything, you must warm your body up, so that it can get used to what you're going to do. WARNING: Stretching and warming up is important and if you don't do it, then you might have serious injury. To stretch, spread your legs wide, but still standing up, then your try and touch your feet. TIP: Breath in and out slowly, it will help you. After 10 seconds, go back to your normal position and touch the other leg for 10 seconds again. Next, sit down and put your legs together, now, touch your feet. If you can't do that, touch your ankles. If you cannot reach your ankles, then just reach as far as you can go. Hold that position for approximately 15 seconds. Now you are ready to begin.

FRONT-ROLL

The first skill that you are going to do is a Front-Roll. You position your head on the ground, then you need to use your hands and push yourself forwards. Tuck your legs in and when your land on your back, stand up again. You have just done a Front-Roll.

Now we are going to move on to something just a little more complex, a Handstand!

HANDSTAND

WARNING: A Handstand a more harder than a Front-Roll so you might need to stretch more or again.

First, you put both of your hands on the ground, then you push yourself up. You might find that it won't work the first time. Don't worry. TIP:Just practice more and you're going to get better! When you do get better, you'll notice that both of your feet will automatically stay together. After lots of practise, you will be able to do a great Handstand! After a while of practice, you'll realise that you might be able to flip over into a Bridge. When you do, try and make sure that you land on your feet. The first time, you might not do it, but once you do it lots of times, you'll get it. TIP:Try a Handstand towards a wall first, it'll be much easier. It'll also make you more confident when doing a Handstand-to-Bridge because you might curve backwards on the wall.

CARTWHEEL

To do a proper Cartwheel, you will need to have strong and sturdy arms so that you can hold and support your own weight. When you do a Cartwheel, you'll need to stand with your arms up high, beside either one of your ears, then you will go down on the floor. Kick off with your good leg. Afterwards, put your hands on the ground and push yourself up! You will notice that your legs will separate from each other and your body would turn in the air. You'd probably land on your feet, or the first time you wouldn't. Just keep practising!

ROUND-OFF

When you do a Round-off, a Cartwheel, it's kind of similar, but you just need to put your feet together when you land. The first step is the same to a Cartwheel, all the steps are the same, except the last. When you are about to land, in midair, you put both of your legs together so that you will land like that, and that's a Round-off! TIP:Practice jumping from side to side with your legs together.

BRIDGE

To do a Bridge, lie down and put your palms against the ground, put your feet on the floor as well, then PUSH yourself up. Make sure that your body is curved. There you go! A Bridge.

In my opinion, I think that Gymnastics is a great way to exercise your body.

I hope that you've enjoyed my blog. Have fun doing Gymnastics!
