The Bass Ring Swallow

Once upon a time a husband and a wife lived together in a cabin in the woods next to a clear shiny river. Mary, John's wife, used to wash her clothes in the river because they were rather poor. One day it was a very busy morning for Mary because she had to prepare dinner and wash the clothes.

While she was preparing dinner, she remembered that she still had laundry to do. So she stopped preparing the dinner and went to wash the clothes. While she was outside singing happily near the river and washing the clothes, she accidentally dropped her ring. She tried to grab it but it slipped so fast, because her hands were all wet and slippery with soap. She tried to look for it but to no avail. Mary was really really sad because she loved that ring. It was her most favourite ring because it was her first anniversary gift.

The next day John went by the river. He wanted to spend the morning fishing. After two hours staring at the fishing rod not catching any fish, John felt a small fishing tuck on his rod. He pulled it with a snitch out of the water, and there it was, a big Bass. John was so happy that he packed everything and left for home with a victorious catch. Mary was amazed when she saw the fish.

Without delay Mary cooked the fresh fish that John had brought home for dinner. While eating, Mary saw a twinkling light between the rib cage of the fish. Mary didn't believe what she had just seen. It was her lost ring. Mary couldn't be happier as she ate a big fresh fish that John had brought and found her lost ring.
