One day there was a boy named Peter. He was a nine year

old with brown eyes and brown hair. He was sick so he had

to stay in a hospital. He was really sad because he wanted

to go out with his friends but he was sick so he couldn't go.

To make it even sadder it was raining. He heard rain splashing

onto the window and he heard thunder.

He went to look out of the window and something magical happened... there was a raindrop but it had legs and arms! And even a face! Peter couldn't believe his eyes. He

opened the window and it hopped right in.

The raindrop said, "Hello!" The boy replied, "Hello" Peter rubbed his eye to see if it

was a dream and then he pinched his cheeks and then he realised that it wasn't a dream.

The boy closed the window so that the rain wouldn't come in. The colourful drop jumped

on Peter's hand. Then Peter asked, "How are raindrops formed?" The raindrop said "I'll tell you! First, the sun warms up the water in rivers, lakes and the sea. When it's warm, it turns into water vapour. It is called evaporation. It gets really light and rises into the sky. When it is high up, the vapour meets cooler air. As the water cools it condenses. It turns back into small droplets which form clouds. When there is wind, it moves the clouds so some float above the land. The droplets get big and heavy when they join together. Then they fall as rain. The rain falls back into the rivers, lakes and seas. Then over and over."

The boy again asked "How did you get here?" The raindrop said that he landed on a dog"s fur and then the dog starts shaking and he fell on a car and slid onto Peter's window.

Later the boy was felling sleepy. When the boy went to bed, the raindrop thought of something that would make Peter happy. The boy woke up and saw a rainbow in the room!
