Carl Friedrich Gauss by Darren

Carl Gauss lived between 30th April 1777 and 23rd February 1855. He died when he was 77 of a heart attack in Göttingen, Kingdom of Hanover.

His brain was studied by Rudolf Wagner and he found that the mass of it is 1492 grams, which is slightly above average.


In 1818, Gauss carried a geodetic survey of the Kingdom of Hanover, linking with previous Danish surveys.


His youngest child, Therese, lived between 1816 and 1864 and kept a good house for Gauss until his death.
