We Want To Know

What materials causes the most friction and makes a toy car stop in the shortest distance.

What We Need

• Cardboard tube (for the ramp)
• Toy car
• Tape measure
• Pen and paper

Test Materials

• Newspaper
• Toilet paper
• Wool blanket

To Keep The Test Fair

In each test we will use the same toy car

We will keep the ramp in the same position

We will keep the force of pushing the toy car down the ramp the same

We will do the same number of tries for each material (x3)

We will only change the type of material

The Experiment

I set the experiment up in the kitchen so we could use the smooth surface (the tiles).

We used a cardboard tube for a ramp and balanced it on a box to bring it into an angle.

We used two bean cans to keep the tube in it's position
